Identify the following wines by their descriptors:
#1 – High acid, 14% alcohol and 160 grams per liter of sugar. The palate is full bodied with tastes of peaches, marmalade, and pie crust with a bright citrus finish that lasts 30-40 seconds. The nose also shows the same qualities with botrytis obviously present and a vanillin character from the use of some new oak. The color is light to dark gold depending on the age of the wine.
#2 – Racing Acidity, 12% alcohol and 230 grams per liter of residual sugar. The palate is medium plus bodied as the acid and lower alcohol blend well with the high sugar. Flavors of nuts, straw and dried apricot on the palate are finished with a somewhat neutral flavor. The nose shows some hints of botrytis, but no significant oak (although versions have been known to have oak). The color is light yellow to gold depending on the age of the wine.
#3 “Uplifting” acid, 13% alcohol and 150 grams per liter of residual sugar. The palate is medium plus in body with flavors of cooked apple, honey, peaches and apricot on a bright finish that appears to have some mid palate tannins (wood tannins most likely). The nose shows some of the same flavors as the palate with an obvious botrytis character and red apples present. The color is a deep gold suggesting some oxidation during processing.
